WeChat Pay Transactions Surge 20% YoY in National Day Holiday; Cross-Border Transactions Up 68%+

According to the "2024 National Day Holiday Data Report" released recently by WeChat, the total number of transactions on TENCENT's (00700.HK) (TCEHY.US) payment platform WeChat Pay surged 20% YoY. When compared to the week before the holiday, transactions in the travel-related sectors nearly doubled, while lifestyle and entertainment transactions grew nearly 30%. During the period, WeChat cross-border transactions surged more than 70% compared to the week before the holiday, marking a YoY increase of over 68%.
