Mercedes-Benz, in its statement, said that the European Commission (EC)'s proposed anti-subsidy tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles (EVs) are a mistake and could lead to far-reaching negative consequences. It called on the Commission to put off the implementation.

The statement also said that Mercedes-Benz adamantly believed that anti-subsidy tariffs will impair the competitiveness of an industry in the long run. It believed that China and the EU should maintain dialogue and reach a negotiated solution in the interests of both parties, and that both parties can find such a solution while time is needed.
