Tongcheng Travel Data: Int'l Air Tickets Rise in Price, Vol. on 1st Day of National Day Holiday; High-star Hotel Bookings Leap

Data released by Tongcheng Travel on tourism spending on the first day of the 2024 National Day holiday showed that the inbound and outbound travel market was booming during the period, with international air tickets rising in both volume and price. Airport traffic in T2/ 3 cities and below grew briskly, with YoY elevation in airfare bookings to cities such as Xinyang, Bijie, Dali, Hanzhong and Shangrao doubling. Many popular museums already fully booked for the National Day holiday. High-star hotel booking in Mainland China leapfrogged. Platform data showed that the booking of five-star hotels in popular cities for check-in on October 1 rallied 31% YoY, and the booking of four-star hotels shot up 38% YoY.
