Mega Motor, a subsidiary of Pakistan's largest private electricity producer Hub Power (Hubco), is forming a partnership with BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) to build its first EV assembly plant in Pakistan by 2026, signaling BYD COMPANY's entry into the South Asian market after limiting Chinese investment in India. Hubco expected BYD COMPANY to sell 100,000 vehicles a year in Pakistan by 2030, accounting for about a quarter of the country's auto sales, according to Hubco.
