Ten Chinese government departments, including the Ministry of Transport, issued the "Certain Measures to Accelerate the Improvement of Transportation Services and Safety and Security Capabilities for Power Lithium Batteries for New Energy Vehicles (NEVs)", which proposed cultivating leading enterprises in the transportation of power lithium batteries. It proposed to organize and carry out actions to groom leading enterprises in the transportation of power lithium batteries, support transportation enterprises in benchmarking against the world's top-notch enterprises, actively expand the international supply chain services for power lithium batteries, integrate overseas transportation, warehousing and other logistics resources, and enhance the service support capabilities of the international supply chain for power lithium batteries. At the same time, it proposed to accelerate the promotion of railway transportation of power lithium batteries and strengthen the standardized management of the lithium battery industry. It suggested to research and formulate conditions for the safe railway transportation of power lithium batteries for NEVs; conduct trial runs of power lithium battery railways at stations that meet the conditions, and study and promote the international combined transport of power lithium batteries by rail.
