Alphabet (GOOGL.US)'s self-driving division Waymo is in discussions with South Korea's Hyundai Motor to outsource the production of self-driving vehicles, South Korean media outlet Electronic Times reported.

It is reported that the two parties have met more than three times to discuss using Waymo's sixth-generation self-driving technology in Hyundai's Ioniq 5 electric vehicles to replace China's Zeekr (ZK.US), which is currently conducting testing for Waymo.

Hyundai Motor responded by stating that there is currently no decision to sell its vehicle platform to a self-driving technology company, according to Reuters.

Waymo declined to comment on any speculation, adding that they are working hard to use the sixth-generation Waymo Driver system on the Zeekr platform and plan to introduce the system into their fleet when ready.
