Xiaomi On SU7 Emitting Smoke in Accident: Battery Suspected to Experience Partial Short Circuit due to Impact

In response to an online video showing "a Xiaomi SU7 emitting smoke in an accident", Xiaomi Automobile, a subsidiary of XIAOMI-W (01810.HK), issued a statement, clarifying that a Xiaomi SU7 was involved in a traffic accident on the road near Nanjing South Station at around 10:03 a.m. yesterday (16th).

The preliminary analysis of the accident was as follows: Xiaomi Automobile cooperated with the traffic police/ fire department/ insurance company to investigate the accident scene. This, combined with the analysis of vehicle data, it was preliminarily confirmed that the vehicle was driving on a slippery road and the driver's operation was improper, causing the vehicle to run off the road and hit the median flower bed.

At the same time, the front bumper and chassis area of the vehicle hit the square stones around the isolation belt. The hit caused serious damage to the bottom of the battery. It was suspected that the internal battery was partially short-circuited due to the strike, resulting in brief smoke and fire, as well as a downward pressure release.
