Nvidia (NVDA.US) CEO Jensen Huang said demand for its latest-generation chip, Blackwell, is strong, with some customers frustrated by limited supply.

Demand for Blackwell is so enormous that everyone wants to be first and everyone wants to be most, Huang boasted. After Huang's speech, Nvidia's stock price shot up 8.1% overnight (11th) to US$116.91, setting the sharpest one-day gain in six weeks.

Huang also noted that Nvidia currently relies heavily on TSMC (TSM.US) for its chips, but geopolitical tensions escalate the risk. While most of Nvidia's technology is developed in-house, meaning the company can shift orders to other suppliers, it could also lead to a decline in chip quality.
