CHINA SOUTH AIR (01055.HK) announced its interim results ended June 2024. Operating revenue was RMB84.79 billion, representing a YoY increase of 18.04%. Loss narrowed to RMB1.054 billion, compared to a loss of RMB2.877 billion in the same period last year. LPS was RMB0.06. No dividend was declared. Traffic revenue elevated 18.13% YoY to RMB80.494 billion, mainly due to an increase in passenger revenue. Passenger revenue was RMB71.764 billion, which has increased in line with the increase in passengers during the reporting period. Cargo and mail revenue inclined 21.59% YoY to RMB8.73 billion, mainly resulting from the increase in freight traffic volume during the reporting period. Revenue from other businesses escalated 16.36% YoY to RMB4.296 billion, mainly due to an increase in revenue from commission income, hotel and tour operation income and air catering service income.
