CKI-led Consortium Acquires UK Onshore Wind Portfolio for HK$3.5B

CKI HOLDINGS (01038.HK) announced that a consortium led by CKI entered into an agreement on August 13 to acquire a portfolio of operating onshore wind farms in the UK from Aviva Investors for a purchase price of approximately GBP350 million (approximately HKD3.5 billion), subject to certain closing adjustments.

The consortium comprises of CKI, CK ASSET (01113.HK) and POWER ASSETS (00006.HK), which will own 40%, 40%, and 20% interests in the portfolio, respectively. The portfolio comprises of 32 wind farms located in England, Scotland, and Wales, totaling 175 MW in installed capacity and 137 MW in net attributable capacity.

The portfolio will provide immediate returns, stable cash flows and recurring profit contributions. Revenues are generated from government subsidies, which are inflation-linked; and power revenue, including from power purchase agreements as well as from selling power to the market. The transaction is expected to be completed in late September.
