Apple's iPhone 2Q Shipments in CN Sink 6%+ YoY: Canalys Data

In light of intensifying market competition, Apple (AAPL.US) registered a 6.7% YoY decline in iPhone shipments in mainland China in 2Q24, data from market research firm Canalys showed.

Based on the data, the total number of iPhone shipments in the quarter ending in June was 9.7 million, a 6.7% drop from 10.4 million in the same period last year. At the same time, Apple's market share shrank from 16% in the same period in 2023 to 14%.

Canalys said that overall smartphone shipments in China grew by 10% in the second quarter. Vivo took the lion's share of 19%, followed by Oppo, Honor and Huawei with market shares of 16%, 15% and 15% respectively.
