China's National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) released the approval status of domestic games in June 2024, with a total of 104 domestic games approved, slightly higher than the number in April and May, Citi Research issued a research report saying. The newly approved games include 92 mobile games and 12 cross-platform games. As of 1H24, a total of 689 Chinese games were approved, in which 628 are domestic games and 61 are imported games. Citi Research believed that its expectation of China approving 1,200-1,400 new games this year remains on track, and further ensured that the normalization of the local game regulation and approval process. Citi Research added that highlights in June include TENCENT (00700.HK)'s "Roco kingdom", NTES-S (09999.HK)'s "Epic of tiara" and 3 games approved for G-BITS(603444.SH), etc..
