HKEX (00388.HK) announced that it resolved to appoint Carlson Tong to succeed Laura M Cha as the Chairman of the Board. Commenting on the appointment, FWD Group Chairman Frederick Ma had faith in Tong's background and experience that make him definitely qualified for the position of Chairman of HKEX. Given Tong's strong communication skills, Ma considered that Tong will communicate well with all stakeholders of HKEX and lead the Exchange to reach another high level, which will cement Hong Kong's position as an international financial center.
