The HSI ended the day up 119 points or 0.45% at 26,749. The HSCEI rose 46 points or 0.5%, closing at 9,160. The HSTECH climbed 35 points or 0.6% to close at 5,798. The total market turnover for the day amounted to HKD240.872 billion. BABA-W (09988.HK) advanced 2.2% to HKD168.5. It is said to have decided to support the independent listing of its chip subsidiary. With the IPO application by Enflame, a company known as one of the four dragons in terms of China-made GPUs, on China's STAR Market having been accepted, chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) gained 0.2% and 0.5%. In contrast, INNOSCIENCE (02577.HK) and BIREN TECH (06082.HK) fell 3.4% and 3%. ILUVATAR COREX (09903.HK) plunged 5.2%. Chip equipment stock ASMPT (00522.HK) dropped 3.7%. Among other tech stocks, TENCENT (00700.HK) and NTES-S (09999.HK) inched 0.4% and 1% lower. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK), BIDU-SW (09888.HK), and JD-SW (09618.HK) grew 0.3-0.8%. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) hiked 2.7% and 2.2%. NEW ORIENTAL-S (09901.HK) rallied 3.8%. In addition, XTALPI (02228.HK), KINGSOFT CLOUD (03896.HK), and INSILICO (03696.HK) spiked 4.5-6.3%. UNISOUND (09678.HK), KNOWLEDGE ATLAS (02513.HK), and MINIMAX-WP (00100.HK) slid 4.8-5.2%. Carmaker BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) lost 0.2%, but its peer XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) leaped 2.8% on a HKD2.5 billion automatic share buyback plan. Following Elon Musk's announcement of his support for space photovoltaics and key capacity planning, GCL TECH (03800.HK), FLAT GLASS (06865.HK), and XINYI SOLAR (00968.HK) ballooned 9.3-11.1%.
