The hiring of senior investment bankers in the Asia-Pacific region heighted by 60% last year as transaction volumes advanced, according to a survey by recruitment firm Maven Partnership. Last year, recruitment activities were vibrant in Japan, shoring up salary levels. The survey showed that Japan accounted for 16% of the total recruitment of managing directors in the Asia-Pacific region, up from 3% the previous year. Meanwhile, Hong Kong maintained stable recruitment activities due to the booming IPO market, accounting for about one-third of the total recruitment of managing directors.
