HK CHP Doesn't Rule Out Contamination of Beetroot Salad Served on Board for Collective Food Poisoning Clusters in CATHAY PAC AIR Flights from Nepal

Two cases of suspected collective food poisoning were reported on CATHAY PAC AIR (00293.HK)'s flights arriving in Hong Kong from Kathmandu, Nepal, this month. Passengers who felt sick had eaten before getting on board and had taken in-flight meals on board.

The Centre for Health Protection of Hong Kong (CHP) said on Friday (24th) has completed investigations into the food poisoning clusters among passengers on two CATHAY PAC AIR flights arriving in Hong Kong from Nepal.

The CHP did not rule out that the food poisoning clusters were caused by beetroot salad contaminated with staphylococcus aureus served on board the flights.
