A bubble is unavoidable just as with all technological waves in history after the initial excitement, yet 1% of companies will stand out and create tremendous value for society after the bubble, BIDU-SW (09888.HK) Founder Robin Li said in a conversation with Harvard Business Review's Editor-in-Chief Adi Ignatius.

The generative AI is disruptive, as it will give everyone the ability of a programmer, Li said, envisioning in the next 5-10 years everyone who speaks a natural language, whether English or Chinese, will have the ability of a programmer. In his view, it is easy to imagine how productive people can become with this ability.

When he was at university, he was still learning assembly language, but no one uses it anymore nowadays, Li said, as people are using Python or C++. And in another 5-10 years, no one will be using Python or C++ too, as people will be able to do what they want in English or Chinese.
