GAC GROUP (02238.HK)'s brand Aion announced its foray into the Qatar market. A product launch event was held in Doha a few days ago, where the all-electric SUV model AlON Y Plus was officially launched. Marco Melani, Regional President of the Automotive Business Unit of the Al-Futtaim, said that the electrification process in Qatar is expediting. With the launch of the Aion brand in Qatar, the company will further expand the lineup of electrified products and accelerate the local launch of new energy models, such as the Hyper HT, Hyper GT and Hyper SSR, to fully meet the diverse needs of Qatari consumers. Xi Zhongmin, deputy general manager of GAC Aion, remarked that GAC Aion adheres to the strategy of “continuous leadership” and is the first to realize the full-stack self-development of EV (electric vehicle) + ICV (intelligent connected vehicle), forming a product matrix including sedans, SUVs and supercars.
