In response to the US Department of Commerce's issuance of proposed rules to restrict Chinese connected vehicle software, hardware, and complete vehicles, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) expressed firm opposition, stating that the US is using national security as a pretext to falsely label Chinese connected vehicle software, hardware, and complete vehicles as "unsafe" and restrict their use in the US.

The MOC argued that the US actions are baseless, not only violating market economy and fair competition principles but also showing typical protectionist measures. These actions severely impact normal cooperation between China and the US in the connected vehicle sector, disrupt and distort the global automotive industry supply chain, and harm the interests of US consumers.
