HKTB: Visitor Arrivals Escalate 43.7% YoY in 8M24

Visitor arrivals in 8M24 grew by 43.7% YoY to 29.5 million in Hong Kong, according to figures released by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB). Of which, nearly 4.5 million visitors came to Hong Kong in August, up 9.2% YoY, hitting a new monthly high since the full travel resumption in February 2023. The significant growth in both mainland and non-mainland visitor arrivals demonstrates the strong recovery of Hong Kong's tourism industry amidst the global pandemic control, with the Hong Kong government's preferential policies and Hong Kong's unique cultural appeal being the main attractions.
