Amid worries about demand for the iPhone 16 falling short of expectations, Apple (AAPL.US) plunged notably on Monday with a slump of nearly 4% at one point to as low as US$213.92. It was still down 3.4% at the latest check.

TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo wrote that the iPhone 16, which started pre-sales on Friday, is expected to have reached sales of 37 million units, a nearly 13% drop compared to the iPhone 15, primarily due to lower-than-expected consumer interest in the iPhone 16 Pro model.
