Regarding the White House’s latest statement that tariffs on Chinese imports have escalated to 245% due to China’s retaliatory measures, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian responded that the specific tariff rate should be clarified with the U.S., CCTV reported.

China has repeatedly stated its solemn position on the tariff issue, Lin said, adding that the tariff war was ignited by the U.S., and China’s necessary countermeasures are aimed at safeguarding its legitimate rights and international fairness, making them entirely justifiable and lawful.
