Hong Kong's Financial Secretary Paul Chan will meet the media at around 6:15 pm today (7th) in the West Wing lobby of the Central Government Offices. Chan is expected to address the rout in Hong Kong stocks.

The HSI opened plunging 2,119 points today and once bottomed at 19,706 with a slump of 3,143 points near the market close. It ended the day down 3,021 points or 13.2% at 19,828, marking the largest single-day point decline in history.
