A spokesperson for the European Commission revealed that EU Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic held talks with Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao, during which both parties agreed to explore setting a minimum price for Chinese-made electric vehicles (EVs), according to foreign reports.

The EU imposed tariffs of as high as 45.3% on Chinese EVs in October 2024. Still, the European Commission expressed willingness to continue negotiations with China for an alternative to tariffs.
