BABA-W (09988.HK) announced that the National Astronomical Observatories, in collaboration with Alibaba Cloud, released the world’s first solar foundation model, “Jinwu”. Built on Alibaba’s open-source Tongyi Qianwen (Qwen) series, “Jinwu” achieves an accuracy rate of over 91% in forecasting M5-class solar flares, marking the highest level of precision for this category of solar predictions. Based on models like Qwen-VL, the “Jinwu” solar foundation model was fine-tuned using over 900,000 solar satellite images as samples.
