BABA-W (09988.HK)'s Ant Group is expected to cut costs by 20% as it used chips made in China to develop techniques for training AI models, Bloomberg quoted sources as saying.

It is reported that Ant used domestic chips from Alibaba and Huawei to train models using the Mixture of Experts machine learning method. The training results were similar to those from Nvidia (NVDA.US)'s H800 chip.
