Alibaba Cloud held its FY2025 kickoff meeting at the Yungu Park in Hangzhou, where Jack Ma delivered a speech, according to Securities Times.

He stated that high technology is not solely about conquering the stars and seas but should also care for the warmth of daily life. The responsibility of tech professionals, he said, is not to let AI replace humans, but to ensure AI understands and serves humanity better.

Ma highlighted that Alibaba Cloud’s resources and technical talent today are both the confidence and responsibility behind advancing cloud computing and AI. He emphasized that the essence of technology lies in improving human lives, making them more meaningful, and benefiting ordinary people.

Technology should revolutionize every individual’s life and uphold their dignity, he argued. Ma expressed his hope that everyone, including Alibaba’s colleagues, would work together persistently to lead the world into a compassionate high-tech era.

Ma remarked that they are not pursuing machines that mimic humans, but machines that understand humans, think like humans, and do what humans cannot. He added that the future should not involve AI replacing humans, but rather liberating them, understanding them better, and serving them effectively.
