Ronald Lam, Chief Executive Officer of CATHAY PAC AIR (00293.HK)  +0.030 (+0.337%)    Short selling $8.56M; Ratio 31.031%   , said in an internal letter to staff on Thursday (10th) that the latest developments in trade tariffs brought uncertainties to a wide range of industries and regions around the world, and that the aviation industry, as a global industry, is highly susceptible to such uncertainties.

As with other industry players, CATHAY PAC AIR is not immune to disruptions in its cargo business, changes in traveler behavior, cost increases and supply chain pressures, etc..

While CATHAY PAC AIR is not in a position to influence the extent and duration of the current external impacts, the Group is taking proactive steps to be in the best position to respond to and mitigate the relevant impact, Lam added.

As such, Lam is personally leading a cross-functional working group to ensure that the Group remains consistent, flexible and responsive, and continue to assess a range of possible scenarios and countermeasures.
