OpenAI's chatbot program, ChatGPT, launched a new image-generating feature last week, which allows users to create images based on existing photos that resemble the style of Japanese famous animation studio, Studio Ghibli, making Miyazaki Hayao's style of drawing the latest online trend.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said on Tuesday that ChatGPT had gained a million users in an hour, and that user interest in the new feature was so intense that it nearly “melted” the GPUs used to process requests.

In his online post, Altman also warned that other new features of ChatGPT might be delayed because of the generator's popularity, and its systems might not work as expected.

When OpenAI first launched ChatGPT, the number of ChatGPT users increased by 1 million in 5 days, and the Miyazaki Hayao style craze was even greater than that of that time.
