On Monday (24th), Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met in Beijing with Merlin Swire, CEO of the UK-based Swire Group, who was attending the "China Development Forum's 2025 Annual Meeting", Xinhua News Agency reported.

Han noted that Swire Group, a globally renowned multinational corporation, has achieved remarkable success in both mainland China and Hong Kong. He expressed hope that Swire Group would actively participate in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Hainan Free Trade Port, making new contributions to supporting and strengthening Hong Kong’s status as an international aviation hub.

The world currently faces complex challenges and a profound adjustment in the global economic landscape, Han said, while noting that China remains committed to the correct direction of economic globalization, upholding the world trade rules system, and steadfastly advancing reform and opening-up, which will inject greater stability and certainty into global economic development.
