Mable Chan, the Secretary for Transport and Logistics, revealed in an interview with TVB News that the Hong Kong government will soon provide details on the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Rail Link connecting Hung Shui Kiu to Qianhai in Shenzhen.

The plan includes the addition of a "Shenzhen Bay Station" and measures to accelerate construction, with the goal of issuing an invitation for expressions of interest in the second half of this year.

Chan mentioned that, to vigorously promote the development of a low-altitude economy in Hong Kong, the government will trial over 30 drone delivery projects within the next six months, including food delivery, document transport, and medication distribution, primarily focused on Science Park and Cyberport.

She emphasized that future expansions of drone delivery trials will concentrate on the New Territories and outlying islands, with less focus on urban areas, though this does not mean the scale cannot form an economy.

The Secretary continued that legislative proposals regarding drone safety and privacy will be introduced this quarter, expected to cover privacy protection and the relaxation of drone weight restrictions.
