The General Office of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the General Office of the State Council issued the "Opinions on Further Strengthening the Whole Chain Supervision of Food Safety", proposing to enhance the integrated online and offline regulation of online food ordering.

The opinions emphasized that the market supervision departments should work with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Cyberspace Administration of China, and other departments to legally handle platforms with serious food safety violations, while facilitating the implementation of "Internet + Bright Kitchen" by platforms and merchants and fortifying the regulation and social supervision of takeout without dine-in.

The opinions also proposed to strengthen the safety management of online food delivery. The market supervision departments should urge online food ordering platforms and catering operators to fulfill their obligations under food safety laws and regulations, and implement food safety responsibilities in the online food delivery process.
