The FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) stated on Thursday (6th) local time that it is considering increasing the number of participating teams in the 2030 World Cup to 64, in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of this major sporting event.

Next year’s World Cup, to be held in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, will see the number of participating teams rise from 32 to 48.
