Wang Wentao, China's Minister of Commerce, sent a letter to the new US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer congratulating him on his appointment as the 20th US Trade Representative, and expressing China's concern over the US tariff hike on Chinese exports.

Wang also expressed his hope that the US will be objective, rational and professional in conducting its assessment and investigation, with enhanced transparency. It is normal for China and the US to have divergence in the economic and trade fields, and their respective concerns should be resolved through equal dialogue and consultation.

Related NewsISM Manufacturing PMI for Mar in United States is 49, lower than the previous value of 50.3. The forecast was 49.5.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the US, the economic and trade relations between the two countries have made tremendous progress, Wang added. A healthy and stable China-US economic and trade relationship is in line with the common interests of the two countries and the expectations of the international community.

China is willing to work with the US to create a better business environment for enterprises of the two countries and bring more tangible benefits to the people of both countries.
