UBTECH ROBOTICS (09880.HK)  -3.350 (-4.241%)   plans to start mass production of its humanoid robots by the end of 2025, delivering about 500-1,000 units of its Walker S series of industrial humanoid robots to its customers and partners, including car manufacturers, Apple (AAPL.US)      supplier Hon Hai, and SF HOLDING (06936.HK)  -0.050 (-0.150%)   , said Michael Tam, Chief Brand Officer of UBTECH ROBOTICS, quoted by South China Morning Post.

Although the company's ultimate goal is to bring humanoid robots into every home, its main focus is still on industrial robots, as factories need robots to solve the challenge of labor shortage, Tam said.

He added that over 60% of the humanoid robots that UBTECH ROBOTICS plans to deliver this year will be the Walker S2, which will be launched in 2Q25, while a newer model of Walker S3 will be launched later this year.

The company is now focusing on AI rather than profitability, Tam also mentioned, expressing hope to find all the solutions to raise funds to invest in upgrading the capabilities of the humanoid robots.
