The China Geological Survey announced that a massive ion-adsorption rare earth mine with potential resources reaching 1.15 million tons had been discovered in the Honghe area of Yunnan Province with support from the Ministry of Finance.

Of which, key rare earth elements such as praseodymium, neodymium, dysprosium, and terbium exceed 470,000 tons, marking a significant breakthrough since the first discovery of an ion-adsorption rare earth mine in Jiangxi in 1969. This mine is expected to become China's largest medium-to-heavy rare earth deposit.
