TSMC (TSM.US) ’s biggest customer, Apple (AAPL.US) , is in the process of verifying that the quality of its first batch of chips produced in Arizona is as good as Taiwan's, and the tests are nearing completion, Nikkei Asia reported, citing people familiar with the matter. After completing the quality assurance process, the first commercial mass-production chips are expected to be shipped to Apple as soon as this quarter.
