Tommy Tam, President of Travel Industry Council (TIC) of Hong Kong, voiced his confidence about the number of inbound tours visiting Hong Kong during the Chinese New Year period, but was a bit worried about the market situation of outbound tours.

He revealed that the current number of tour enrollment is not so satisfactory, presumably due to the close proximity between Christmas and Chinese New Year; many people know how to book air tickets and hotels on their own; and the airline capacity for long-haul tours has not yet been restored.

The TIC will continue to promote a number of objectives, including continuing to unite the businesses, fostering trade professionalism, leveraging on technology to help the trade transform, and creating tourism products that can keep abreast of the times, said the President.
