Sina Weibo's community management official and WeChat's public platform operation center jointly released announcements about reinforcing the governance of non-compliant micro-drama titles, under which micro-dramas with non-compliant titles will be gradually taken offline, and will only be reinstated after their creators have passed the modification process.

Pursuant to the requirements released by the competent units of WeChat, the platform issued an internal letter in the first instance, prompting the creators to carry out a self-examination of content elements in the titles that contain low-quality and vulgarity, violate public order and morality and render extreme antagonism and other content elements that do not conform with the mainstream values, and prompting creators to rectify the relevant messages in accordance with the guidelines within the stipulated time limit, WeChat's announcement stated.

In order to further implement the requirements of the management, the platform once again reminded that the titles of micro-dramas should enhance the ideological connotation, cultural connotation and aesthetic connotation, convey the mainstream values and enhance the artistry.

The platform will continue to step up its approval and governance efforts, and will strictly regulate and deal with micro-dramas that are in breach of the regulations.
