Former Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn opined that Nissan and Honda have too much overlap in technology and other areas, and that even if the two were to merge, it probably wouldn't be successful.

It would be difficult for Nissan to revitalize on its own, but from the perspective of the auto industry, Nissan and Honda are not complementary to each other, while the acquisition proposed by Hon Hai Precision Industry is quite interesting, Ghosn said.
