Chinese President Xi Jinping advised the new Macau SAR government to unite all sectors of society, seize opportunities, reform with determination, fulfill its responsibilities, and better leverage the advantages of the "One Country, Two Systems", Radio Macau reported. He also expressed four hopes for the development of the SAR.

The first is to focus on fostering the moderate diversification of the economy, combining its own advantages and resource endowments, accurately positioning and focusing on key areas, improving industrial development planning, increasing policy support and capital investment, and focusing on cultivating new industries with international competitiveness.

The second is to focus on improving the governance effectiveness of the Macau SAR; the third is to focus on creating a higher level of external opening-up platform, based on the positioning of "one center, one platform, and one base", and improving the mechanism to better play a role in the country's opening to the outside world.

Fourth, China must strive to maintain social harmony and stability. The current situation in Macau is generally stable, but profound changes are taking place in the internal and external environment. The country must be vigilant in times of peace and prepare for the future, strive to prevent various risks, and firmly safeguard national security and Macau's stability.
