The US government decided to raise import tariffs on Chinese solar wafers, polysilicon and some tungsten products to 50% starting next year, after a 4-year review.

The tariff hike would further weaken the impact of China's inappropriate policies and practices while strengthening the resilience of key supply chains, Katherine Tai, US Trade Representative, said.
