TIANQI LITHIUM (09696.HK)  -0.250 (-1.099%)    Short selling $5.41M; Ratio 25.593%   Chairwoman Jiang Anqi said at a summit that some countries are currently shifting towards trade protectionism, hoping to support the development of local enterprises through subsidies and high tariffs to a certain extent, according to the National Business Daily.

Chinese lithium industry chain companies may face challenges from the international market, which will impose higher demands on the company's long-term strategic layout, response strategies, and adaptability, Jiang added.

While Sichuan's spodumene resources are abundant, Jiang noted that weak infrastructure and fragile ecological environments make extraction relatively difficult and development progress slower than expected, resulting in the current high dependence of the domestic lithium salt industry on foreign lithium resources. If the self-sufficiency rate of resources can be further improved, it will better promote the quality and efficiency of the domestic lithium battery industry chain.
