The U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs have issued a statement that the U.S. Embassy in Kiev, Ukraine will be closed due to intelligence reports of a possible major air strike, and have instructed embassy staff to shelter in place and advised U.S. citizens to be ready to evacuate at any time if air strike sirens are sounded.

Earlier, Ukraine had used U.S. ATACMS missiles to attack Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin had warned last month that Russia would respond to Ukraine's use of US weapons.
