TSMC (TSM.US)      Deputy General Manager Hou Yongqing said that Taiwan should invest more resources in developing chip technology and expanding supply chain expertise in order to maintain its leading position in the world, foreign media reported.

Hou added that Taiwan should accelerate the pace of research and development and evaluate whether it can attract foreign partners to set up design and material centers in Taiwan.

In his view, Taiwan must develop more expertise in the field of equipment and materials dominated by foreign companies. In addition, he mentioned that the Taiwanese chip industry has not yet received notice of new tariffs from the US.
