The US Department of Commerce has notified Congress that at least 3 companies, including TSMC (TSM.US) and GlobalFoundries Inc. (GFS.US) , will receive the last batch of subsidies under the CHIPS and Science Act, Reuters quoted sources as saying. The authority announced in February 2024 that it reached an agreement with GlobalFoundries to subsidize US$1.5 billion for GlobalFoundries' new plant in New York and production capacity expansion in Vermont.
