CITIC Capital Holdings Limited (CITIC Capital) announced that its private equity investment business, Trustar Capital, inked an agreement with CITIC (00267.HK) +0.040 (+0.448%) Short selling $15.56M; Ratio 14.834% to acquire its shares in McDonald's businesses in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau (referred to as "McDonald's China"). After the transaction, the CITIC Capital Consortium (comprising of CITIC Capital and its private equity investment business, Trustar Capital) remains the controlling shareholder of McDonald's China.McDonald's China responded that it is very pleased to see that CITIC Capital's private equity investment business, Trustar Capital, increased its stake in McDonald's China based on its steadfast optimism about the growth prospects of China's economy and consumer market as well as McDonald's China's development potential.
