The People's Intermediate Court of Huanggang City, Hubei Province, publicly announced today (10th) the first-trial verdict in the case of bribe acceptance by Fan Yifei, former member of the Party Committee and deputy governor of the People's Bank of China (PBOC), according to a report from CCTV.The court sentenced Fan to death for accepting bribes, with a two-year reprieve, deprived him of political rights for life, and confiscated all personal property. Upon expiration of the two-year reprieve period, the sentence will be commuted to life imprisonment without the possibility of reduction or parole.
