Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities, said that demand for Apple (AAPL.US)      's iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max was lower than expected, but sales of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus were higher compared to the previous generation of iPhones. Overall, the iPhone 16 series had approximately 37 million units of pre-orders during the first weekend, down about 12.7% compared to the iPhone 15 series.

Kuo analyzed the shipping time on the Apple website and supply chain surveys over the past weekend. During the first weekend of the iPhone 16 sale, pre-orders for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max shrank 27% and 16% YoY, while iPhone 16 Plus and iPhone 16 rose 48% and 10% respectively.
