The US House of Representatives approved the Biosecurity Act, which still needs to be passed by the US Senate before it can be sent to US President Joe Biden for signature and become law.

Mao Ning, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC (MoFA), said at a regular press conference that China firmly opposes the US House of Representatives' approval of a bill that would take discriminatory measures against Chinese enterprises.

Mao added that China will continue to resolutely protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, meanwhile supporting Chinese firms to protect their own rights and interests in accordance with the law.
